🔮 WHAT IS A MALA?
The word "mala" comes from Sanskrit and means "garland." For thousands of years, malas have been used in Hindu, Buddhist, and Jain traditions as a tool for prayer and meditation. Each bead marks one breath, one mantra, or one moment of intention.
A traditional mala has 108 beads, with shorter versions (like 27 beads) used for a quicker practice or worn as a bracelet. The single larger bead, called the guru bead, marks where your count begins and ends.
🙌 HOW TO WEAR & USE YOUR MALA
Wear your mala as a necklace, or wrap it around your wrist as an everyday reminder of your intention.
To use it for meditation: hold the guru bead or pendant between your fingers, choose a mantra or affirmation, and move to the next bead with each repetition, working your way around the strand. There's no wrong way to do it. Some people chant aloud, some repeat silently, and some simply hold their mala and breathe.
However you choose to wear or use it, your mala is yours: a wearable reminder to come back to yourself, one bead at a time.
📏 ABOUT YOUR MALA
Your mala necklace is made with genuine, high-quality 6mm beads. It measures approx. 34" around.
Measurements are approximate, since natural bead sizes vary slightly. Cotton tassels measure about 3 inches.
As a bracelet, your mala may wrap around a 6.25" wrist 4 times, but that is not a guarantee. As a practice, it is not recommended to wrap 6mm malas.

Our malas are finished with cotton tassels and durable nylon knotting cord. Unlike silk, nylon does not rot, stretch, or fray easily, making it a practical choice for a mala that is handled, worn, and used in daily practice.
