We're Malaology, a small family in Michigan, and malas are our whole world. Every strand we make is knotted with prayers and blessings for your highest good. We’re very deeply honored to be able to share our craft with the collective. In return, we pour ourselves into our work.
Making a mala is an act of devotion.
We believe Spirit moves through our hands, so as we knot, we knot in blessings and intention. What reaches you carries love, prayer, and peace. Years of practice have taught us that this is sacred work, and we treat it that way.

Meet your Mala Makers
Teresa ~ Gemstone Expert, Doctor of Metaphysics, Reiki Master
Long before malas, I'd spent decades learning the language of crystals, spirituality, and metaphysics. I bring authority and mastery to each piece I create. Beyond expertise and credentials, I care about the people who wear my malas, and about making the world a better place. I’m here to serve.
I started making malas because I was guided.
One day, I was holding my fifth or sixth purchased mala and realized that although I was in love with the idea of mala beads, almost obsessed, I still hadn't found a single one that felt or looked quite right for me. I knew I would have to learn to make malas myself, that I would only be pleased with my own craftsmanship.
I turned to my husband, Paul, and said, “I have to start making malas.” He was shocked because it was quite out of the blue. After all, I had a satisfying career and a busy life. Where would I find time, and where was this coming from?
Since then, it’s been a magical journey of growth and healing. Immersing myself in various mala practices - mantra, breathwork, meditation, counting blessings - and surrounding myself with an ever-expanding variety of gemstone and crystal beads has been wildly transformative. Now, I live to share all I’ve found with others.
No matter who knots a mala (Paul or me), I finish it. I add the charm or tassel, bless it, and package it with love to send home to you. As a perfectionist, I wouldn't have it any other way

Paul helps with all aspects of Malaology. He built our website, knots malas alongside me, and carries every order to the Post Office so it can begin its journey home.

Evan ~ Our Son, Our Sweet Helper
Evan is woven into the everyday magic. He folds our boxes and inserts; assembles the little pouches of oil, incense, and selenite; and strings beads for us to knot. He's always thinking of ways to improve our workflow and your experience with unique gemstone combinations, thoughtful touches, and new ways to do things.
He is a kind and gentle soul.
How We Spend Our Days
If you could step into our space, you'd find kirtan playing in the background, incense wafting through the rooms, an occasional pause to chant OM or breathe together (Paul insists), and malas everywhere in every phase of assembly. Maybe Dr. David Hawkins, Wayne Dyer, or Alan Watts on video, voices that keep our vibration high while we work.
This is the atmosphere your mala is born into. We like to think you can feel it.
